New Website Is Launched

Category: Website Information
As you may have been aware, over the summer, I have helped to design, develop and implement a new website for DYJA. Many of the requests over recent times about more up-to-date information, photos and user interactivity have been taken into consideration to create what will hopefully be a very active and useful web site.
The website has been launched and, as you can see, it is looking great. At the moment, it still needs some content adding (in the form of written information about the bands, exchanges, etc), but everything else is working.
The new features include:
•Photo Gallery – Registered members can upload their photos to the online gallery and rate each others photos.
•Guestbook – a simple guestbook page where anyone can leave a comment.
•News Blog – A blog where members can post content and where relevant news items and reports can be displayed.
•House Keeping Blog – This is possibly the most important feature, it is a blog that Diane can use to keep the bands up-to-date with rehearsal, exchange and concert information.
•RSS Feed – This feed can be added to your feed readers and bookmarked so that you can easily keep up to date with blog entries and photo gallery additions.
•Diary Dates – A new concerts and events listing that will contain every event the bands need to know about, and it can be printed in a friendly format for safe keeping.
•Email Forms – easy to use contact form to send an email to the jazz centre.
•iTunes – For a long time it has been suggested that DYJA should get involved with the online music scene. Currently 'Discover The Spirit' is available on iTunes UK and US, so if you have 79p to spare, download your favourite track.
What we want DYJA members to do is to register with the new website (all we need is a name, an email address and a chosen password) and begin to use all the new features. Ideally, we want all possible flaws and errors to have been ironed out by the time we go to Limonest (24th October), and in order to do that we need as much user contribution over the next three weeks as possible.
If you have any more questions about the website, any suggestions, or if you have found any errors, then please get in contact with Thomas Watling by the online email form.
Happy surfing!

One of the great new features is that you can post comments to blog entries.
