Doncaster Youth Jazz Association provides specialised individual tuition, masterclasses, workshops and performance opportunities for young people throughout Yorkshire. Thousands of young people have benefitted from its educational ideals and the experience of performing to a high level. Many have become highly respected professional musicians in the UK and other countries.
Founded in 1992, Marsden Jazz Festival is one of the UK’s longest established jazz festivals. Thousands of visitors make the trip by train, bus, car or narrow boat to experience the unique atmosphere the festival brings to Marsden every year, and more than 60 volunteers give up their time to help make the weekend a success. This jazz festival is proud to showcase a wide range of jazz musicians from internationally-acclaimed artists to local school bands and rising talent. Join Dennis Rollins on Sunday afternoon at the Bandstand to listen to DYJA’s local talent – the Doncaster Youth Jazz Orchestra.
